Reports to: Managing Director
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager Operations to take ownership of project-level budgeting, payment authorisation, and financial controls across our solar PV and BESS portfolio in Romania. This role sits at the intersection of project finance and day-to-day operations, ensuring all expenditures are properly sanctioned, accurately tracked, and promptly escalated when thresholds are approached.
• Set and maintain project-level operational budgets in coordination with the Managing Director and project teams
• Exercise signing authority for payment transfers and financial commitments within approved budget limits
• Supervise and validate payments to EPC contractors, verifying invoices against contract milestones, progress certificates, and drawdown conditions
• Review and approve payments to O&M providers, grid operators, and other project partners, ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance
• Monitor budget consumption on an ongoing basis and maintain clear variance tracking across all cost lines
• Identify and escalate budget exceedances or material risks to senior management in a timely manner with supporting analysis
• Prepare and present regular financial reporting for management, lenders, and shareholders
• Support audit processes and ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Romanian accounting standards and lender requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) a plus
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in financial management, project finance, or controlling, ideally in infrastructure, energy,or construction
• Experience with EPC contract payment structures, milestone-based disbursements, or lender drawdown processes is highly desirable
• Strong command of budgeting, variance analysis, and financial controls
• Romanian (mandatory) and English (required)
• High integrity, discretion with sensitive financial data, and comfort operating with signing authority
